Nearly twenty-five thousand homes in southeastern Queensland found themselves lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events impacted the region, producing strong winds hitting 109 kilometers per hour.
Large Hailstones and Extensive Destruction
Homeowners observed large ice chunks reaching sizes of 7cm in particular locations. Meteorological experts confirmed that multiple regions across Queensland had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Response teams were working to restore power throughout the damaged zones, with approximately seventy teams working to handle the extensive power failures.
Victoria's Weather Woes
Simultaneously, nearly one thousand households in Victoria also experienced power outages after the capital city recorded its wettest day in 18 months.
Rescue organizations received over five hundred calls for help across the region, mostly for building damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

Moist weather were expected to linger along much of eastern Queensland this week as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
